Across the West Midlands, too many people are facing housing insecurity in silence. Some are sleeping in cars or on sofas. Others are stuck in temporary placements far from their support networks. Many are just waiting , for a safe place to land, a fresh start, or simply to feel seen.
The scale of the issue is significant. In 2023, more than 15,000 households in the West Midlands were identified as homeless or at risk of homelessness , a figure that continues to rise each year. Nationally, over 139,000 children are now living in temporary accommodation , the highest number ever recorded in England. These aren’t just numbers. They’re single mums escaping abuse. Teenagers aging out of care. People fleeing war. Adults battling poor mental health without support.
And behind every crisis point is a question:
Where can this person go, and who will help them when they get there?
Sunnybricks Support CIC was created to help answer that question. We’re not trying to reinvent the system , we’re here to strengthen it. We work in partnership with councils, charities, landlords and community providers to deliver supported housing that is safe, compliant, and genuinely person-centred.
We saw a need for more than just accommodation. We saw people falling between the cracks , placed in housing without proper support, or offered support without stable housing. And we saw frontline teams stretched to capacity, trying to make it all work under enormous pressure.
So we stepped in, not to replace anyone, but to connect the dots.
Our model brings together ethically sourced housing, robust compliance, and meaningful support. We offer homes that meet local authority standards, delivered by a team that lives in and understands the communities we serve. We don’t place people and walk away , we stay involved. We listen, we adapt, and we work with partners to create placements that restore stability, build trust, and give people room to breathe.
We operate across non-licensable and licensable properties, working proactively to maintain standards and ensure our homes meet regulatory expectations. Every home is linked with support that is relevant, responsive, and rooted in compassion, not checklists. And every decision we make is grounded in a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to feel safe where they live.
There is no single solution to housing need in the West Midlands. But we believe that working together, with humility, clarity, and consistency , we can be part of something better.
If you’re a referral partner, a local authority, a support organisation, or a landlord, we welcome your collaboration.
Let’s build homes that heal , not just house.
